23XI Racing confirmed Saturday, Aug. 29, in a statement that Herbst “woke up with lingering effects from last weekend’s incident, and along with the team, decided it was in his best interest” to step aside from the No. 35 Toyota in the Saturday night race.

Harrison Burton, the 2024 Daytona summer winner, will race the No. 35.

Herbst had started in each of the season’s first 25 races, racking up three Top-10 finishes and ranked 26th in driver’s points.
