Niece Motorsports names lineup for third truck
Ross Chastain, Johnny Sauter, Kaden Honeycutt and Connor Mosack will all race for Niece Motorsports in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2024.
The four of them will split the driving duties of the No. 45 Chevrolet Silverado this season. Crew chief Phil Gould, who led Chastain to the Championship Four in 2019, will lead the team.

Johnny Sauter will kick off the season, driving the No. 45 at Daytona.
“I’m appreciative to everyone at Niece Motorsports for the chance to get back behind the wheel and start the season at Daytona,” Sauter said. “I’m ready to go racing and I know Phil and this Niece Motorsports team are ready to get back on track too. We’re ready to compete for a win in Daytona.”
Chastain will take his turn in the truck at Circuit of the Americas, Darlington, North Wilkesboro, Pocono and Indianapolis Raceway Park.
“I love coming to race in the Truck Series,” Chastain said. “I’m thankful to Al Niece and everyone at Niece Motorsports for allowing me to get behind the wheel of these Chevrolets. We’re going to do our best to go out and win races and compete for an Owner’s Championship. It would mean a lot to me to be able to bring that home to Al Niece.”

Meanwhile, Honeycutt and Mosack will fill out most of the remaining races.
“We’re excited about the young talent we’ll have behind the wheel this season with Kaden Honeycutt and Connor Mosack. They’ve shown a lot of talent. We’re hopeful that we can help them polish that with more time behind the wheel,” said Cody Efaw, the general manager of Niece Motorsports.
Last year, Honeycutt in particular earned three top-10 finishes in 11 starts.
“Thanks to Al Niece and everyone at Niece Motorsports for the opportunity to go racing in top-tier equipment this season,” Honeycutt said. “I’m looking forward to having more time in one of these Chevrolets. And competing for an Owner’s Championship with this group.”
Page Construction and R.D.C. Shoe Company will sponsor the No. 45 entry.
Mosack raced in the NASCAR Xfinity Series last year. In 24 starts, he earned two top-10 finishes, including a fifth-place finish at Watkins Glen.
“I’m excited to join Niece Motorsports this season,” Mosack said. “This is a strong group. I’m thrilled to be a part of it and learn from everyone here. I’m ready to get behind the wheel in Las Vegas and get the season started.”
