“Race: Bubba Wallace” wins Sports Emmy for best serialized docuseries
The Netflix series, “Race: Bubba Wallace,” took home the Sports Emmy for best serialized documentary series Monday night.
“Race” follows Wallace and NASCAR as they navigate the U.S. as it reckons with COVID-19 and racial injustice protests.
The documentary series beat these other series:
- F1: Drive to Survive – Netflix
- Coach Prime – Amazon Prime Video
- Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Detroit Lions – HBO/HBO Max
- Last Chance U – Netflix
“Race” one of two pieces of NASCAR content nominated for a Sports Emmy.
The Sports Emmys nominated NASCAR on NBC for the “Best Audio/Sound – Live Event” award. However, the XXIV Olympic Winter Games on NBC won that award.
