Sheldon Creed earns tenth runner-up finish
Despite leading at the white flag in the Sci Aps 200 Saturday, Sheldon Creed had to settle for another NASCAR Xfinity Series second-place finish.

Creed’s Joe Gibbs Racing teammate, Christopher Bell, went on to win at New Hampshire Motor Speedway with a last-lap pass while Creed earned his tenth runner-up result in the series.
“Just stayed in the hunt all day,” Creed said. “I wasn’t great on the short run, but I felt like we could compete at times.
“Just stayed in it, worked hard at it and came home second again.”
Creed has three second-place finishes this year, with the other races at Daytona in February and Sonoma in June.
Overall, Creed has 18 Top-5 finishes — the most among active Xfinity Series drivers without a victory — 39 Top-10 finishes, and 364 laps led, another category the 26-year-old driver leads non-winners in.
Through the first 16 races of the year, Creed has picked up 7 Top-5 finishes, 10 Top-10 finishes, led 19 laps, and sits fifth in points with a 100-point cushion over the playoff cutline (13th-place Ryan Sieg).
