Bayne will race the truck in the Baptist Health 200 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The Tennessee-based Truck organization tabbed him to drive to share his talent and evaluate where their performance is at.

“I definitely didn’t see this coming two weeks ago,” Bayne said in a news release. “This deal came together rather quickly.”

“The team is looking forward to our partnership with Trevor,” said Willie Allen, president of Rackley W.A.R. “Trevor brings a lot of very good experience to the table. He will be a good measuring stick to help evaluate some of the things we are working on moving forward.”

Trevor Bayne won the 2011 Daytona 500. This season and last season, he has raced a partial schedule for Joe Gibbs Racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

With JGR, he has five top-5 finishes, 8 top-10s, a pole and 202 laps led. He also has an average finish of 11.8.

Rackley W.A.R. made the playoffs with driver Matt DiBenedetto this year before ultimately releasing DiBenedetto with three races left in the season. DiBenedetto previously announced he wouldn’t return to the team in 2024.

After the release, Chandler Smith drove for the team at Talladega.

Bayne has eight previous starts in the Truck Series, all coming in 2020, when he raced for Niece Motorsports.

Bayne earned one Top-5 finish and two Top-10 finishes. His best finish was second at Talladega.
