Truex, Larson top Friday Sonoma practices

SONOMA, Calif. — Martin Truex Jr. and Kyle Larson topped the two practice sessions for the Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway Friday (June 21) at the 2.52-mile road course.
Truex, the 2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series winner at Sonoma, posted a lap time of 95.168 seconds (95.326 mph) in the first practice.
Ryan Blaney, Chris Buescher, Jimmie Johnson and Michael McDowell rounded out the top-five drivers in the first practice session.
Every driver posted at least four laps in the first session.
Larson posted a lap time of 95.026 seconds (95.469 mph) in practice No. 2, earning the top spot in the session.
Kurt Busch, Aric Almirola, Clint Bowyer and Matt DiBenedetto rounded out the top five in the second practice.
Joey Logano, the 2018 series champion, posted the 12th-fastest and 13th-fastest lap times in the two practices respectively.
Qualifying is tentatively set to start at 3:10 p.m. ET Saturday for the Toyota/Save Mart 350.
The race will be televised live on FOX Sports 1 Sunday (June 23) at 3 p.m. ET.
