Austin Dillon in, Brandon Brown out at Indy for Brandonbilt Motorsports

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Brandonbilt Motorsports announced Friday morning Austin Dillon will drive the team’s No. 68 Chevrolet Camaro at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course July 29.
Dillon will replace Brown and make his second NASCAR Xfinity Series start of the season, while Brown will race for Mike Harmon Racing at Indianapolis.
Brandonbilt stated the move was mutually agreed upon due to a lack of sponsorship funding.
“We are diligently working to secure the necessary funding that is needed to keep Brandon in the No. 68 for the remainder of the 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series season,” said Jerry Brown, the co-owner of Brandonbilt Motorsports.
The team stated they welcome Dillon for the opportunity to learn from the NASCAR Cup Series veteran but are looking forward to Brown’s return Aug. 6 at Michigan.
Brown will be of assistance to the No. 47 Mike Harmon Racing team as they sit 41st in the NXS owner points with 11 DNQs in 18 attempts this season.
Brown won at Talladega in October, which makes him eligible for a provisional to get in the field should he need it.

33 spots will be available on speed at Indianapolis and five will be available on provisionals.
Dillon has one other NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2022 – at Charlotte in May, driving Big Machine Racing’s No. 48 Chevrolet.
