SALISBURY, N.C. — Niece Motorsports on Tuesday named Matt Mills to return to their NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series lineup in 2025.

Mills will return to drive their No. 42 Chevrolet Silverado RST next season. It will be his second season with the organization. He initially signed with them last October.

“I’m extremely fortunate to have people like J.F. Electric and Utilitra coming on board and supporting me on this journey again,” Mills said. “It’s been a really fun time with everyone at Niece Motorsports with what we’ve been able to build on throughout the year. I’m hoping to carry that on through the next few races and into the 2025 season.

J.F. Electric and Utilitra will continue to support him as they have for several years. The two partners will cover the entire 25-race schedule next season.

“Every opportunity I get, I’m very fortunate, and that wouldn’t be possible without my partners. I appreciate Niece Motorsports for believing in me; it’s a dream come true to race for an operation like theirs and race for Al Niece. I’m excited to finish off the year strong and ready to keep working into next year,” Mills said.

Mills has earned four Top-15 finishes, including a fourth-place finish at Charlotte Motor Speedway and an eighth-place finish at Nashville Superspeedway. While he didn’t make the playoffs, the organization views this season as a transitional year.

“Matt has been a great add to our team this year,” said Cody Efaw, the general manager of Niece Motorsports. “Even though he’s been racing in NASCAR for a long time, he entered this season with a fresh mindset. The Truck Series is a completely different animal compared to what he’s been used to racing, and he’ll be the first to tell you how much he’s learned. He knows the feel he needs out of his truck now, and I think we’ll have a chance to go out there and have a great year with him.”

The organization will announce the rest of the lineup at a later date. Mills and Bayley Currey currently race full-time for them. A variety of drivers, including Ross Chastain, Kaden Honeycutt, Connor Mosack, Johnny Sauter, Conor Daly and Matthew Gould, split time in their other entry.

Mills sits 22nd in points, just behind Honeycutt who has run nine races this season. Currey sits 19th in points but doesn’t have a Top-10 finish yet this season.
