NASCAR Trucks: Layne Riggs dominant in repeat win at IRP

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Layne Riggs and crew dominate the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at and repeats their win from a season ago at IRP.

This is his fifth win of the season, and he finally reaches double-digits with his tenth victory of his Truck Series career.

Front Row Motorsports has put on a clinic at the short tracks this season and it was business as usual from Indianapolis Raceway Park tonight.

The duo started the evening by living up to their organizational namesake as they both qualified on the front row.

From the jump, Layne Riggs showed just how much better he was than the field. Riggs and crew brought back their race winning setup from their dominating win at IRP from 2025, and the truck acted like it had never left.

He quickly set off and led wire to wire in the all-green first stage. Riggs matched that by doing the exact same thing in the second stage for a second consecutive season with an IRP stage sweep.

The final stage saw the lone incident caution of the night between Daniel Hemric and Landen Lewis. The brief red flag did not break Riggs’ concentration. After the racing resumed, he maintained his lead once again and went uncontested to the finish.

Riggs led 198 of the 200 laps and leaves IRP with an extended regular season point lead.

He and the rest of the Truck Series will have a couple weeks off before they head to Richmond Raceway where FRM looks to extend their short track dominance out east.

The Top Ten

Connor Mosack led the lone practice session at IRP but was unable to convert that into single-lap speed in qualifying. However, his truck ran well enough in the race to come home in second place.

Ty Majeski qualified ninth and made steady gains throughout the TSport 200 to have a quality finish inside the top five from third.

Chandler Smith qualified second and ran inside the top five to finish fourth. His eighth top five of the season was good enough to clinch his spot in the Chase with three races remaining in the regular season.

The top five concluded with Nick Sanchez, who made his return to the series for the first time this season in the Spire Motorsports No. 77.

Then, Stewart Friesen finished in sixth. Kaden Honeycutt failed to sweep the nights events after he won the proceeding ARCA race. He came home with a top ten from seventh.

Gavan Boschele completed his Truck Series debut with his first career top ten from eighth. He will certainly make more starts for Tricon Garage after that performance.

Tyler Ankrum finished ninth to maintain his current chase contention.

Finally, in his third career series start, Michael Christopher Jr. earned his first career top ten.
