Sheldon Creed captures Indianapolis Pole for the Pennzoil 250

SPEEDWAY, Ind. — Sheldon Creed narrowly bests Carson Kvapil for the Pennzoil 250 pole at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

This is his first pole of the season and his fifth series pole of his career.

Both Haas Factory Team cars brought tremendous single-lap speed to IMS this weekend and Creed takes full advantage of that in this session.

He bested Carson Kvapil for the pole by just under three hundredths of a second.

For Kvapil, he will look to capture his first career victory from the front row in second.

Then, Sam Mayer will line up directly behind his HFT teammate in the same ride that went to victory lane here in 2024 with Riley Herbst.

Jeremy Clements utilized his partnership with Haas and powered his way for a fourth place starting position and will share the same row with Mayer.

Taylor Gray rounds out the top five qualifiers. He is the highest qualifying Toyota and shares the third row with his teammate Brandon Jones. Jones will start sixth and enters IMS with great momentum as the previous winner on an intermediate in the series.

The fourth row has both of the NASCAR Cup Series regulars who decided to dip down to the O’Reilly Series this weekend. Chase Elliott edged out his JR Motorsports teammate Ross Chastain for seventh.

Finally, William Sawalich and Sammy Smith round out the top ten from ninth and tenth starting positions.
