Hocevar on Brickyard 400 pole as Spire sweeps front row

SPEEDWAY, Ind. — Carson Hocevar will start from the pole for the Brickyard 400 as teammate Daniel Suarez qualifies second to complete the Spire Motorsports front row sweep.

This is Carson’s second pole of the season and his third NASCAR Cup Series career pole overall.

Spire Motorsports has all the momentum post-qualifying here in Indiana. Not only did the organization manage to park two entries in the front row, but Michael McDowell also managed to qualify inside the top ten too.

Suarez, who starts in the aforementioned second, claimed the second “crown jewel” event of the season in the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Now, the organization looks primed to ride the elevator into victory lane for another.

Tyler Reddick will start third as Toyota’s highest qualifier. He has to dig out of a 68-point deficit to the regular season point leader Denny Hamlin and delivers a decent shot to do so from third.

Ty Gibbs will join Reddick on the second row from fourth. His teammate Denny Hamlin will look for his first career Brickyard 400 win from fifth.

If Hamlin wins at the brickyard, he will join an elusive group of drivers who have won every NASCAR crown jewel event.

Michael McDowell will start sixth. Corey Heim returns to the Cup Series for the event and will line up in seventh place.

Alex Bowman leads the Hendrick Motorsports camp from eighth. He will look for a solid weekend to distract everyone from his recent retirement announcement.

Finally, former Indianapolis winners occupy the fifth row. The road course winner, AJ Allmendinger qualified ninth. Finally, 2024 Brickyard 400 winner Kyle Larson will round out the top ten from tenth.

The In-Season Challenge championship pairing are separated by 23 positions at the green flag. Ryan Blaney will start 13th as the highest Ford in the field. Then Todd Gilliland has a ton of work to do from 36th.
