Joey Logano secures dominant Cup win at North Wilkesboro

Joey Logano held off a late charge from Denny Hamlin to capture the first NASCAR Cup Series points-awarding victory at North Wilkesboro Speedway Sunday since 1996.

Logano lead 323 of the 450 laps in the Window World 450, earning his first victory of the 2026 campaign.

The win extended the three-time series champion’s streak of at least one win per season since 2012 to 15 consecutive seasons, the longest active streak in the series.

“The pressure was there for sure,” Logano said to TNT Sports of Hamlin’s charge at the end.

The win snapped Logano’s winless streak of 45 races, dating back to Fort Worth in May of last year. for his 38th overall series win.

Hamlin finished second, while his Joe Gibbs Racing teammates Chase Briscoe and Ty Gibbs trailed in third and fourth.

“It was an impressive drive from him,” Hamlin said of Logano’s win. “…This Toyota was just one spot short.”

Shane Van Gisbergen, who led laps in Stage 1, rounded out the Top-5.

Bubba Wallace, who finished sixth, was the last driver on the lead lap.

Brad Keselowski, Todd Gilliland, Daniel Suarez, and Ryan Preece were the rest of the drivers to finish off the Top-10.

Lap 49: Hamlin stayed out and is the leader with Gibbs to his inside.

Lap 40: First caution for a John Hunter Nemechek in 31st with a spin in Turn 2. Looks like he had help from Zane Smith. He continues.
