Struggles continue for Alex Bowman

Since his return from a dirt racing injury in April, Alex Bowman has yet to finish inside the Top-10 in a NASCAR Cup Series race.
Bowman seemed to be on his way for a Top-5 finish in the closing laps of the HighPoint.com 400 at Pocono Raceway Sunday before spinning in Turn 3 and ultimately finishing 24th.
The Hendrick Motorsports driver is ranked 21st in points, 46 points behind 16th-place Michael McDowell for the final playoff spot. Five races remain before the start of the playoffs.
Bowman opened the season with six Top-10 finishes in the first seven races and held the points lead for three weeks. His last Top-10 finish was an eighth-place finish at Richmond in April.
Since joining Hendrick Motorsports in 2018, Bowman has never missed the playoffs piloting a Hendrick racecar.
