Tyler Ankrum, Austin Hill fail to advance to Championship 4

AVONDALE, Ariz. — Where there are winners, there are those who also fall short.
Austin Hill and Tyler Ankrum did not advance to the Championship 4, with their finishes of 13th and 26th respectively in the Lucas Oil 150 Friday (November 8) at ISM Raceway.
“We pretty much sucked,” Ankrum said of his race.
“…That’s all that happened tonight, is that I ran in the back, laps down, and it was too short of a race to gain it back up.”
Ankrum’s season featured his first career Truck Series victory in July at Kentucky Speedway.

Hill, also a first-time winner this season, fell six points short of advancing to compete for his first championship in NASCAR’s third-tier series.
“I feel like I made somewhat of a statement, but I really wanted to bring back a championship, back-to-back,” Hill said. “I feel like I didn’t achieve this year.”
Hill has won three race thus far in 2019 (Daytona, Michigan and Las Vegas II).
The Ford EcoBoost 200, the final race of the season, will be televised on FOX Sports 1 on Friday, November 15 at 8 p.m. ET.
