NASCAR Cup Series sophomore Riley Herbst is showing heavy improvements from last year. After no top 10 finishes last year, the 27-year-old from Las Vegas has scored three top 10’s this year including two in the last three races.
Alex Bowman finishes fifth in the No. 48 Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports at Chicagoland Speedway. Bowman scores his third top five finish of the season and first since Texas in May. He also beats Austin Cindric to move onto the third round of NASCAR’s In-Season Challenge. Bowman sits 29th in points.
Chicagoland Speedway has announced that the grandstands are sold out for today’s eero 400. The 1.5 mile oval in Joilet, Ill. holds over 47,000 seats. The race today, will be the first for the track in the NASCAR Cup Series since 2019.
Despite multiple setbacks, Connor Zilisch finishes 10th in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race at Chicagoland. Zilisch also scores the fastest lap of the race in the No. 1 Chevrolet for JR Motorsports.
